How to change Master Passenger Name of E-Ticket in IRCTC (Indian Railways)
http://www.irctc.co.in/etktcanc.html

4. E-Tickets
4.1
For booking of e-tickets the user has to give the photo identity card details of any one of the passengers in the transaction. This will require entering the identity particulars of one of the passengers, who will have to carry same ID card in original while traveling.

The following photo identity cards are considered valid:

Foreign Tourists and NRIs have to give the Passport ID detail of any one of the passenger in the transaction and have to carry the same ID in original while traveling during journey.
4.2
For E-ticket - The user can take a printout of the Electronic Registration Slip (ERS) and perform the journey, duly carrying the authorized Original Identity Card details of which were given at the time of booking.
4.3
For e-reservations-the ticket can be booked up to the chart preparation time for the train.
4.4
E-tickets: E-tickets (Reservations) can be cancelled only through Internet till Chart preparation of the train and cancellation is not allowed at face-to-face Railway Counters. If the user wishes to cancel his E-ticket, he can do so till the time of chart preparation for the train (which is normally 4 to 6 hours before the scheduled departure of the train from the train originating station. (For trains starting up to 12 noon the chart preparation is usually done on the previous night). He can log on to www.irctc.co.in and go to Booked Tickets link and select the ticket to be fully or partly cancelled and can initiate the c ancellation by selecting the passengers to be cancelled. In case of partial cancellation where the 'Master Passenger' is desired to be cancelled, any passenger in the same ticket can be opted as 'MasterPassenger' by the user and the identity details of the new master passenger are required to be filled in. There after the photo identity card of new master passenger is to be carried during journey. Cancellation would be confirmed online and the refund would be credited back to the account used for booking as for normal Internet tickets. If there is any partial cancellation of ticket please ensure that the modified ticket (Electronic Reservation Slip) is printed separately.
In case the passenger travelling against e-Ticket is not carrying the printed copy of the "Electronic Reservation Slip" during his/her journey, a nominal charge of Rs.50/- is chargeable by the TTE/ Conductor Guard in the train against an excess fare ticket.
4.5
For any claims on E-tickets after the preparation of Reservation charts, the user has to send an email from the email ID mentioned in his profile at the earliest possible time to etickets@irctc.co.in giving full details of the ticket and stating the claim, which would then be processed by IRCTC with the Railway administration offline and refunds as sanctioned by the Railway administration would be credited back to the user's account.

The official website has lot of pop-ups and advertisement which make the user uncomfortable. This site does not show the passenger and express train which do not have a reservation coach. Here a user must know the train name or number and also station code without this information he cannot search the trains. they have given the link for searching the station code but if the user does not know the correct spelling of the station name he cannot get the station code. one more think is for each entry you will have to go to get it from separate page. if you does not know the date of running of the train then also you are not able to search the trains

However, “search multiple stations in a city with a single search”, is not a unique feature http://erail.in/ has been offering this feature for a while. We tested the site http://www.indiantrains.org/and it worked reasonably well.

I have not seen such a good site which has so many features in a single page. The better way to search Indian trains looks great and it open fast, no pop-up, user friendly. Every information in a single page. This concept is good and some of the features like calendar, train running day has not come in a single website in this reviews. the most important features i have seen in this site that if the user does not know the station code then also he can see all the trains and it is only website which have a drop menu box for the important station from where you can choose the station name and also it has a date calendar from you can choose the date and it show the running day of the train so that you can know which day of the week this train is running. the other most important feature I have seen in this website that it show the train which does not have the reservation coach for the benefit of the user and they are showing the passenger train also which is also not available in any website. This site will enable the users to search train route and compare fares of most of the trains in India.
