Kalam Tuje Salaam

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam - A Role Model!!!
(Fullname: Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam)

I am really impressed with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India and he has served at top educational institutions, ISRO Space organization and served the nation for 5 years (2002-2007) as President of India.

Dr. Kalam's vision for India as,
* a developed and corruption-free nation by 2020!
* the governance is responsive, transparent and corruption-free
* a nation that is one of the best places to live and is proud of its leadership.

He has said during his farewell speech, "I will always be with you, dear citizens, in the great mission of making India a developed nation before 2020"

It is also our responsibility to make this happen with our contribution for the nation's development being a citizen of India.

Kalam noted that India had 540 million people below the age of 25 "which I consider the most powerful resource on the earth" to achieve its development goals.

Now Kalam will be continuing towards this vision at Anna University, Chennai

Teppakulam - Madurai

Welcome to my hometown Madurai and beautiful spot to visit is Teppakulam (walkable from my home :) )

Madurai is also known as 'Temple City' and also called 'City of Festivals'

Teppakulam means a Tank to be filled with water and once in a year this tank will be filled with water from the Vaigai river during the month of January/February for the 'Float festival' ([ Tamil, Teppa Thiruvizha (Thiruvila)]

During this festival, Lord Siva and Goddess Meenakshi will go around the Tank in a Teppam (boat) from the temple to the Center of the Teppakulam after taking 3 rounds in the water. Lot of people will be visiting and worship the God.

People crowd will be a lot during this festival time frame. Many from nearby villages, cities will visit during this festival.
